Shandrum AC's Annual 4 Mile Road Race Takes Centre Stage!

Hosted by Shandrum Athletic Club, this event promises an evening of spirited competition, set against the backdrop of Newtownshandrum village. The race is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 pm, with participants gathering at the starting point above the village church. The route, a well-loved circular path, begins in the direction of Charleville. Runners will navigate through the scenic countryside, taking the second right and then the next left, eventually rejoining the main road leading back to Charleville. At the 2 Mile cross, a left turn leads them past Shandrum graveyard, looping back towards Newtown village. The race culminates in front of the Newtownshandrum GAA hall, where the finish line eagerly awaits the contenders.
For those who missed online registration, fear not! Walk-in registrations will be accommodated at the GAA hall from 6pm to 7pm on race day. Race numbers will also be available for collection during this time. Ample parking is available at both the Newtownshandrum GAA Complex and the nearby church car park, ensuring a hassle-free arrival for participants and spectators alike.
Timing for the event will be meticulously managed by Premier Timing Systems, ensuring accurate and reliable race results.
