Seahan Shines as Leinster League Nears Conclusion
July 18, 2024
The Leinster League continued in spectacular fashion last night, with Seahan hosting a thrilling round of IMRA racing that left participants exhilarated to say the least. The midweek league, which has seen significant success this year, has now completed 11 out of its 13 scheduled races.
In the female category, Aine Gosling secured first place, followed by Niamh Brophy in second, and Aoibheann O'Brien in third. The male category saw Enda Cloake taking the top spot, with Liam Mooney finishing second, and Rory Lush coming in third.
The Seahan course was noted for its demanding nature, featuring a challenging route that required runners to summit the peak twice. This aspect of the course was described by one participant as having "an evil touch," adding a layer of difficulty and excitement to the race.
Significant praise is due to Race Director Martin Bagnall and his team of volunteers. Their hard work and dedication were instrumental in the successful execution of this event, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all runners.
With only two races remaining, the next event in the Leinster League is set for Church Mountain on July 31. This race will be the penultimate in the series, with runners eagerly anticipating another night of intense competition on the hills.
As the league approaches its conclusion, participants and spectators are looking forward to seeing who will emerge victorious in this year's thrilling league.
