April 15, 2024
County Master Road Championships. Clerihan.
On Sunday the curtain came down on the County Tipperary Road Championship for 2024 with the County Master Road Championships, in Clerihan, hosted by Clonmel AC. Both the ladies and men had 6km to complete. In the lady's competition Edel Delaney was our sole representative. Edel finished her 6k in a time of 26.11, finishing 17th overall and 13th over 40. Well, done Edel on another great race and another great road season. In the men’s competition we had three athletes competing. Brian Carroll led the way for our master men, crossing the line in a time of 22.59, to finish 24th overall and 9th man over 40. Patrick Bowe followed closely behind in 25th, just 3 seconds behind Brian in a time of 23 minutes 2 seconds. Patrick managed to earn a super silver medal in the over 50 category. Well done Patrick. John Renehan was next home for Moyne AC in a time of 23.15 for 27th position and 6th man over 45. Well done lads. We would like to say thank you to all of the host clubs that held the events, and to the volunteers who made them possible. We would also like to congratulate all of our athletes that raced amazingly on the roads this season. Roll on the track season.
