Mossy Bracken Finishes 9th in Tullamore Half - Moycarkey Club Notes

National Half Marathon Results:

There were Top ten finishes for Mossy & the club in Tullamore,Co. Offaly On Saturday August 26th. 1175 runners descended upon Tullamore Harriers athletic club when the race started just outside at 10 am where the athletes ran 13 Miles on the road before finishing with 400m of the Track. Mossy Bracken was first home for the club in 9th place overall running another great race in 1hr11mins&29seconds, Conor Keating 57th and Matthew Ryan 58th place both set new Personal Bests for the distance in 1hr 16mins:49 & 1hr:16mins55 respectively, Paddy Cummins just after finishing Bailing the straw and getting it in out of the rain the night before showed no ill effects running well in 72nd place in 1hour 17mins & 54 seconds. Shane Mullaney our 5th runner on the day ran well too in 183rd place in 1hr:24mins;02. In the Team Results, The Club finished in 8th place out of 47 clubs finishing ahead of Clonliffe Harriers, Raheny, Galway City, & Kilkenny City Harriers to name a few. Well done Lads. Church Gate Collection:

Sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to our Annual Church Gate Collection last weekend in Littleton, Moycarkey & Two-Mile-Borris Masses, Very Much appreciated.

Club Members Spotted at World Championships:

Some Familiar faces were spotted at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Last week including The Fogarty sisters Aoibheann, Eimear & Amelie and Kevin Shortall who got his photo taken with Irish Legend Sonia O'Sullivan.

Juvenile Training:

Condolences:

Moycarkey Coolcroo were saddened to hear of the passing of Pat Strapp, RIP. Pat was a great supporter of the club, especially our Fit4life group. Sincere Sympathies to his Family,neighbors & friends, his wife Anne, daughters Silivianne & Simone and son Jonathan. Ar dheis dé go raibh a anam dilís.

Clonmel Half Marathon Postponed:

In light of the recent road tragedy in the locality, Clonmel AC made the considerate & heartfelt decision to postpone the race to a later date our sincerest consolation to all those affected by the 4 lives lost in the community.
