KILLARNEY VALLEY ATHLETIC CLUB

Conor O’Donnell travelled to Dundalk for the National Juvenile B Cross Country Championships last weekend. Conor was the 4th scoring member of the 6 man Kerry Team that took a silver medal along with athletes from Iveragh AC & Star of the Laune. Well done Conor.

Ciara Kennelly was in form this weekend when she represented DCU at the Irish University Indoor Championships. Ciara jumped a lifetime personal best of 1.79m coming joint 1st. Ciara also competed in the Loghboro UK Open the previous weekend and came 2nd with a jump of 1.73. Well done Ciara.

Killarney Valley AC had a big weekend of Track & Field Athletics in the Munster Indoor U20/U23/Senior & Masters Championships held in Nenagh. In the Masters, Pierce O’Shea came 2nd in the M35 200m. Alan Delaney came 1st in the M40 60m and High Jump. Tim Horgan came 1st in the WFD, 2nd in the Shot and 2nd in the M40 High Jump. Derek Pyne came 1st in the M45 400m and Long Jump. Pierce, Alan, Derek and Tim won gold in the Masters 4x200 Relay. Tomas Griffin came 1st in the M50 Long Jump. Brid Stack came 1st in the 200m and 2nd in the W50 400m. Maureen O’Shea came 2nd in the WFD and 3rd in the W55 Shot Put. Mike Murphy came 2nd in the M55 60m. Oisin O’Regan came 1st and Jason O’Reilly came 2nd in the U20 60mH. Bart Zglinski came 2nd in the U20 High Jump. Cian O’Brien came 3rd in the 200m. Oisin, Jason, Bart and Cian came 1st in the U20 4x200m Relay. Jack O’Leary ran a fantastic race to win the U23 800m. Eoin O’Reilly was 1st in the 1500m and 3rd in the U23 800m. Anna O’Shea came 2nd in the U20 Pole Vault.
