With wind warnings in place as Storm Amy sweeps across Ulster this evening, several events due to take place tomorrow have already been called off. Gusts strong enough to topple trees have left organisers with little choice but to cancel.

We’ll keep this article updated as more cancellations are confirmed, so consider this a live list. For now, it’s only Saturday events that are affected, but depending on how severe the storm proves to be, Sunday races could also be impacted if roads flood or courses are left unsafe.

*Correction: Antrim parkrun has not been cancelled but is subject to a course inspection tomorrow

What about Sunday’s races?

There are four races scheduled across Ulster on Sunday: the Groomsport 10k, the Newcastle Way Half Marathon and Marathon, and the Donegal East Marathon races. At this stage, none of them have been cancelled. Forecasts suggest Storm Amy will have passed well before then, but be sure to keep up to date via the race organisers' socials over the next day or so.
