Irish Team For Anglo Celtic Plate 100k Announced

The Irish team has been announced for the upcoming 2025 Anglo Plate 100k. Seven men and four women were selected by Athletics Ireland who highlighted the importance of the event;
"The Anglo Celtic Plate 100k Home International plays an important role in developing athletes at distances beyond the Marathon and to prepare athletes for future opportunities at European and World Championships. This event will also host the Athletics Ireland 100K National Championships as part of the Open Race. All competing athletes registered with an Athletics Ireland affiliated club will be eligible for the National Championships."
The event will take place on May 3rd at Mallory Park in Leicester, England starting at 8 am and finishing at 8 pm consisting of 20.72 laps for the 100k with 10.35 laps for the 50k race. The 100k race incorporates the annual Anglo Celtic Plate home countries event, as well as the British, Scottish and Irish 100km road championship for 2025. The Men and Women's Anglo Celtic Plate will be awarded to the first Home Nations team both male and female. Scoring is on the cumulative time of each nation's first three finishers. The Norman Wilson Trophy will also be awarded to the fastest 100k debutantes both male and female of which on Team Ireland are Rob Kelly, Stephen Murphy, and Cathal McParland.
