SkyRun The Mournes

The SkyRun The Mournes on 11 October 2025 incorporates the classic 35km Mourne Skyline™, 50km Mourne SkyUltra® & the new 20km SkyTrail™.

The SkyUltra is an undulating, mountainous route that tours the Mourne Mountains.

The classic Mourne Skyline is an icon of Northern Irish mountain trail running, remaining relatively unchanged since inception in 2014. This 35km & 2,700m+ route encompasses many of the notable peaks of the northern Mourne Mountains, traversing a plethora of technical and rocky trails and frequently handrailing the impressive Mourne Wall, before emerging from higher ground to deliver runners to the aid station at Fofanny Dam.

From here, runners head eastbound back to the coast, exploring new trails before a final sting in the tail awaits runners in the form of Slieve Donard and then it's all downhill to the finish at Donard Park.

The Mourne SkyTrail 20km takes in the highlights of the eastern Mourne Mountains (and much of the Skyline route including the 850m tall Slieve Donard.
