Pat Dunbar Memorial (NIMRA League Race 2026) 13K

Race start shall be beyond the bridge on the path. The race follows the Mourne Way back towards Rostrevor 
through the gate at Batt's Wall. After 1.2km at Yellow Water junction GR 211225, turn left up the hill and 400 
metres up the hill at the next junction keep left in northerly direction following forest road then path 
for 1km. When you cross the wall, follow up hill on the left hand side of the wall for 0.75km until you get to 
manned CP1 on left hand side of wall GR 224233.  Use the stone steps to cross the wall, over 
Tievedockaragh, down to the corner of the forest GR 223227, then take the down hill path through the forest to unmanned CP2 GR 219222.  Turn left following the forest road up to sheep pens and then follow the river keeping it on the left hand side until river-wire fence junction, manned CP3 GR 229224.  Follow the fence line and cross after 0.5km at the fence corner, head north towards Pierce's Castle summit, manned CP4 GR 234239. From here head in a north direction to Rocky summit where you get to the final manned CP5 GR234259, from Rocky summit it's downhill to finish at Leitrim lodge.
WHILST MAJOR JUNCTIONS ARE MARKED THE COURSE IS NOT FULLY MARKED! This is a mountain race and some navigation may be required.

Equipment
All runners must carry;
a) Whistle
b) Compass
c) Map of the entire course (Mournes Outdoor Pursuits Map)
d) Emergency rations equivalent to one mars bar (minimum)
e) Waterproof garments affording complete body protection
f) Hat, gloves and a foil blanket
