🏞️ Trooperstown Summer Route Race 🏅

Get ready for a thrilling race through Trooperstown in Wicklow, featuring 11.8 km of moderate terrain and a total climb of 455 meters. This race is a great opportunity to test your endurance and enjoy some beautiful Wicklow scenery.

💸 Entry Details:

Entry details have not been added yet, but typically open a few weeks before the event.

🎽 Mandatory Kit:

Level B - Standard Kit:

Waterproof jacket

Hat or buff

Gloves

Whistle

Charged mobile phone with emergency number stored

Foil blanket, bivvy bag, or equivalent

The actual kit to be carried will be finalized on the day depending on weather conditions.

Failure to carry the required kit may result in disqualification.

📍 Getting There:

Directions:

Take the M50 Southbound, exit at Roundwood (Kilmacanogue), and follow signs to Laragh.

Continue through Annamoe, and after 1.5km, you’ll see a brown sign for Trooperstown. Turn here and follow the road to the car park by the river before the stone bridge.

Parking is not allowed at the MR Base (race registration location). It is about a 5-minute walk from the car park by the river to the MR Base for registration.

🚗 Carpooling:

Carpooling is mandatory due to limited parking at Trooperstown. There are approximately 80 parking spots available.

If carpooling is not possible, use these alternative car parks:

Roundwood Cemetery Car Park: Link

Laragh Free Car Park: Link

Laragh Free Car Park has extended hours to 10:30 PM, allowing time to attend the prizegiving at Lynhams.

Do not park along the main road or in areas marked with broken yellow lines.

🚪 Registration:

Location: Trooperstown MR Base (A98 VY72)

Registration Hours: 6:00 PM to 7:10 PM (sharp).

Early Start: 7:00 PM for those expecting to take 160% of the winner’s time.

Main Race Start: 7:30 PM

Short/Junior Course (5 km): 7:35 PM

Beginners' Forest Loop (2.2 km): 7:40 PM

🎬 Filming:

The event will be filmed for the TV series "Ireland’s National Parks from Above" by Like a Shot Entertainment Limited.

Participants will be filmed both on the ground and from drones.

🏆 Prizegiving Location:

Location: Lynhams of Laragh

Lynhams location

Enjoy sandwiches, platters of chips, and the race raffle after the race.

Prizegiving will take place in the BBQ area or the lobby (weather permitting).

Note: Do not park in the Lynhams car park before 9:00 PM during the race. After the race, feel free to move your car to their car park before 10:30 PM.
